Morning Ireland claims top spot but national stations shed listeners

All national radio stations lost listeners and market share in the second quarter of 2013, according to the latest Joint National Listenership Research (JNLR) report.

All national radio stations lost listeners and market share in the second quarter of 2013, according to the latest Joint National Listenership Research (JNLR) report, published last week.

Individual programmes managed to make inroads in these areas, but second quarter losses were endured by all RTE stations and Communicorp's Newstalk and Today FM.

Today FM lost 52,000 listeners, or 10 per cent of its listenership. 2FM lost 29,000 listeners on the same period in 2012, according...
