Justice Michael Moriarty sent a handwritten letter to Michael McDowell when he was Attorney General in support of significant pay increases for tribunal barristers, The Sunday Business Post has learned.

Moriarty later hired McDowell to work as a senior barrister when the tribunal sat for several days last year.
