More than half of government bonds held by non-residents

Fifty five per cent of Irish government bonds are held by non-residents, according to the latest figures from the Central Bank.

Fifty five per cent of Irish government bonds are held by non-residents, according to the latest figures from the Central Bank.

According to the latest data from the Central Bank on holdings of Irish government long-term bonds, some €115,465 million worth of bonds were outstanding at June 2013. Of this, some €63,195 million worth of bonds were held by non-residents. This accounts for 55 per cent of the total outstanding stock.
