More must be done to tackle financial crimes

Charges have finally been laid against some of the senior executives who were running Anglo Irish Bank during its collapse. More charges against others and perhaps against them may follow.

The matter is now in the hands of the courts and, like other media outlets, we are severely restricted in what can be said or written about their cases for fear of influencing the outcome of the trial. That is as it should ...
