More customer overcharging by banks - regulator

Evidence of further customer overcharging by financial institutions has been received by the financial regulator in the wake of the report into overcharging by AIB.

Evidence of further customer overcharging by financial institutions has been received by the financial regulator in the wake of the report into overcharging by AIB.

Last July, the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority (IFSRA) asked all credit institutions to review their customer charges. The regulator received details of these reviews last month.

“We have come across errors and incorrect charges for customers,” said Mary O'Dea, IFSRA's consumer director.
