Monti: has "strong appreciation" for Ireland

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has met Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti in Rome; both expressed satisfaction with recent developments in the euro zone

Italy's Prime Minister Mario Monti has expressed "strong appreciation" for the progress made by Ireland in recent months, during a meeting today with Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

Monti's office issued a statement saying both leaders had expressed satisfaction with the bond buying plan by the European Central Bank and with the move by Germany;s constitutional court to back a permanent bailout fund for Europe.
