Accountants want to protect their name

Last week saw the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA Ireland) call on Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton to give legal recognition to the term accountant.

According to CPA Ireland, the current legal rules means that anyone can set themselves up as an accountant, without education, qualifications or experience.
