Mobile data and web charges to be capped
Wholesale mobile data and internet charges are to be capped at €1 per megabyte, according to new rules introduced by the EU.
Under a compromise agreement made between operators and the Industry Committee of the European Parliament, the cap is also set to come down to 50 cent by July 2011.
The deal is expected to be endorsed by the European Commission's telecoms commissioner, Viviane Reding.
