Mixed news on aid for NGOs

Irish Aid, the state's programme of assistance to developing countries, has notified the country's development non-governmental organisations (NGOs) of the funding they will get for 2012.

Irish Aid, the state's programme of assistance to developing countries, has notified the country's development non-governmental organisations (NGOs) of the funding they will get for 2012, with Plan Ireland receiving the biggest increase in funding.

Plan Ireland, which promotes children's rights, has been promised €1.12 million, up from €800,000 in 2011 - an increase of 39 per cent. World Vision also saw its funding increase - up from €1.12 million in 2011 to €1.48 million in 2012.
