Last Thursday morning, I went to a conference on drugs in Dublin Castle, organised by the Merchants Quay Project.
On Upper Castle Yard, a lone car - an 05 BMW - was parked outside the conference venue. I asked a garda whose car it was. ‘‘A minister’s car,” he said. I enquired why ministerial cars were permitted to park where other cars were not allowed to park, but he just laughed.
