Minecraft creator earns $235m in revenue last year

The small Swedish company behind game sensation Minecraft brought in €235 million in revenue last year, it has been revealed.

Minecraft involves players constructing their own virtual world, runs on smartphones, Microsoft’s Xbox Live and PCs.

The small Swedish company behind game sensation Minecraft brought in $235 million in revenue last year, it has been revealed.

Mojang, based in Stockholm, has just 29 employees but posted earnings of $90 million. according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. Mojang has sold more than 20 million copies of Minecraft, said the report.

The game, which involves players constructing their own virtual world, runs on smartphones, Microsoft’s Xbox Live and PCs.
