Minco strikes quality zinc deposit
Minco, the Irish mining company, has discovered a major quality zinc deposit in its jointlyowned Pallas Green licence in Co Limerick, according to market sources.
It is believed that the result of an extensive drilling programme using 15 rigs has found zinc at up to a high rate of 15 per cent in deposits.The rate is among the highest across Ireland's extensive zinc-mining areas of Lisheen, Navan and Galmoy.
Minco jointly operates the PallasGreenmining areawith NorandaMining, according to the Minco website. Canadian mining giant Teck Cominco could become involved in developing the site, sources said.
