Electronics stores are opening at midnight on Wednesday to cope with the expected huge demand for Sony's Playstation Portable (PSP), writes Emmet Ryan.

The PSP goes on sale on Thursday and Sony expects to sell 20,000 units in the first week. Most major retailers expect initial stocks to run out quickly.
