A 56-year-old wedding dress designed by Bob Geldof's aunt is being sold for charity by a vintage shop which is tapping into our love affair with the past, writes Tina-Marie O'Neill.

Tucked away in a vintage treasure trove in Greystones, the organdie fabric with its sparkling phlox pattern has lost nothing of its beauty.

Indeed, the years - 56 to be exact - have infused it with an illusory layer of glamour and allure. So that the woman who buys this dress won't just be buying a wedding dress, but a chronicle of an Ireland past.
