The owners of the Merrion Hotel in Dublin are spending over €3 million on refurbishing its rooms and suites, adding extra spa treatment rooms and improving kitchen facilities.

General manager Peter MacCann said that work on around half of the 142 bedrooms had already been completed. "We started the work in August," he said.
