Members of German chancellor Angela Merkel’s governing coalition intend to pass a resolution rejecting an expansion of Europe’s permanent financial rescue fund, German newspaper *Handelsblatt* said.

Coalition lawmakers plan to pass the resolution in the lower house next week, strengthening Merkel’s hand on the European Stability Mechanism before she meets fellow European Union leaders at a March 1st and 2nd summit in Brussels, the Dusseldorf-based newspaper said in an advance copy...
