Mercedes goes for straight As

If asked to describe the previous generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class in three words, I'd come up with 'tall', 'awkward' and 'dull', writes Shane O'Donoghue.

If asked to describe the previous generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class in just three words I'd come up with something along the lines of 'tall', 'awkward' and 'dull'. That may sound harsh, but I've never been a fan, even if it was a thoroughly clever piece of engineering that resulted in a surprisingly spacious small car.

Forget all that though, as the all-new A-Class has arrived in Irish showrooms, and it's not at all like its predecessor....
