The heads of Dublin's three medical schools have expressed "alarm and deepening concern" about the possibility of a scaled-down National Children's Hospital being built on the Mater site.
In a letter sent to James Reilly, the Minister for Health, last week, the heads of the medical schools at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), University College Dublin and Trinity College warned against axing education and research facilities from the hospital.
