The campaign to ease the ban on political advertising on television and radio got a boost last week with a fresh push from the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland, which is now threatening an appeal to the European court on the issue.
Willie O’Reilly, its chairman, argued that more people might vote if political ads were on TV and radio, and that they would be a useful tool for politicians to get more people.
