Anyone who’s feeling low about the power of marketing in recessionary times should take comfort from Ikea. Whatever about its cheap and cheerful products, Ikea is utterly brilliant at advertising, and its crowded aisles last week were a sight to behold.
There was so much breathless news coverage around its opening – literally for several years – that Ikea scarcely needed to bother advertising its new Dublin store.
