I suspect that, for the people of the North, the sense of relief is palpable this weekend. The frail political construct so many laboured for so long to build has somehow survived. And now, like the survivors of some near miss, they are taking in the view with gratitude and relief.

Ironically, what was intended to be catastrophic was instead cathartic. Maybe the lion didn’t quite lie down with the lamb, but Robinson and McGuinness...
