Irish fast food chain Supermac's is following its customers Down Under, with plans to expand the restaurant chain into the Australian market.

Pat McDonagh, the founder and managing direct of the group, said he hoped to capitalise on the growing Irish expatriate community, as thousands of Irish people move to Australia in search of work.

The Galway-based firm is looking to open its first Australian outlet later this year, according to McDonagh.
