McDonagh seeks site for conference centre

Pat McDonagh, the managing director of Supermacs, is examining three sites for a €250 million conference centre after halting plans to build the centre in Athlone, Co Westmeath.

Pat McDonagh, the managing director of Supermacs, is examining three sites for a €250 million conference centre after halting plans to build the centre in Athlone, Co Westmeath.

McDonagh, who owns and operates 60 Supermacs outlets, has been contacted by a number of local authorities keen to secure the centre.

It is understood that the new sites now being examined include one in Limerick, one in Galway and one in the midlands.
