McCreevy in ‘Red Bull’ attack on health service

Ireland’s European Commissioner Charlie McCreevy has said that ‘‘pouring money into the Irish health service without reform was like giving Red Bull and a set of car keys to a group of teenagers’’.

Delivering the Google Leadership lecture at the company’s European headquarters in Dublin on Friday, McCreevy said the Irish and other European governments had to dramatically change the way their public services are run, ending jobs for life and payment for seniority.
