Former pharmacist Roy McCabe has been given the go-ahead for an 18-hole golf course and 50 houses on his Farnham Estate in Cavan, where the Radisson group is developing a 158-bedroom hotel.

An Bord Pleanala gave planning permission for 50 houses in the walled garden area of the estate, despite the fact that a planning inspector had opposed them.
