Matisse the star at Sheppard's sale
Artistic gems and charming garden pieces are on offer at Sheppard's three-day sale in Durrow, writes Ros Drinkwater.
At Sheppard's three-day sale in Durrow this week, the star lot from a south Dublin private collection of modern Irish, English and continental works is a signed nude sketch by Henri Matisse. Executed in ink and coloured washes laid down on handmade paper, Life Study of Kneeling Woman measures 50 by 30 centimetres and is expected to fetched €15,000 to €20,000.
