Development work on the expansion of the Mater Hospital in Dublin is scheduled to begin next June following the initiation of a tender process for the project last week.

A spokesman for Mater Campus Hospital Development, the company charged with overseeing the expansion project, said it anticipated that construction would be completed by the end of 2011.
