Irish shares rose before tonight's crucial EU summit meeting in Brussels

Shares rise after Germany's Bundestag responded to Chancellor Angela Merkel's urgings to remember that Germany had an obligation to the euro, and gave its backing to a stringer euro rescue fund.

The ISEQ index closed off the day's highs but still 15.49 points ahead at 2,670.27 points.
