Management swallows Freshways

Ireland's largest sandwich-maker has been bought from Kerry Foods in a management buyout. Freshways, which was founded by Kerry Foods in 1990 and now produces 300,000 sandwiches each week, has been acquired by Diarmuid Shanahan and Garrett Fitzgerald. According to Shanahan, Freshways has hired a number of new staff since the MBO, and plans to recruit 50 additional staff in the next 12 months.
