Market report: Stocks plummet to one-year low

European stocks dropped to a one-year low, with the benchmark index recording its longest slump in 11 years, as concerns grew that a financial crisis could be returning to some of the region’s nations.

European stocks dropped to a one-year low, with the benchmark index recording its longest slump in 11 years, as concerns grew that a financial crisis could be returning to some of the region’s nations.

The Stoxx Europe 600 declined for an eighth day, losing 1.9 per cent at 11:23 a.m. in London.

National benchmark indexes fell in all 18 western European markets today.
