European stocks advanced this morning after equities enjoyed their biggest weekly gain in more than a month as Ukrainian and Russian officials met for talks.

European stocks advanced this morning after equities enjoyed their biggest weekly gain in more than a month as Ukrainian and Russian officials met for talks in an effort to calm the calm the crisis which has been plaguing the eastern part of Ukraine for months.

“Every time you have a de-escalation of geopolitical risk, it works favorably to the market,” Steen Jakobsen, chief investment officer at Saxo Bank in Copenhagen, told Bloomberg News.
