European shares were mixed after their best week since July but trading was relatively light with US markets set to remain closed for the Columbus Day holiday.
By 09:25 a.m., London’s FTSE 100 lost 0.4 per cent and France’s CAC 40 was down 0.2 per cent while Germany’s DAX added 0.5 per cent, helped by a strong performance from utility stocks. In Dublin, the ISEQ gained 0.2 per cent.
