European shares fell as worse-than-expected Chinese import data fuelled investor concern over growth prospects for the world’s second-largest economy.
By 12:00 p.m., London’s FTSE 100 was down 0.7 per cent, France’s CAC 40 dropped by 1.3 per cent while Germany’s DAX shed 1.1 per cent. In Dublin, the ISEQ index of Irish shares was up 0.1 per cent ahead of the budget announcement later today.
