The **France** downgrade everyone has feared since January finally arrived last week - and the world didn't end. Moody's cut France's credit rating by one notch from the increasingly rare AAA to Aa1, citing the slow progress of economic reforms in the eurozone's second-largest economy. But markets barely reacted, having been through this ritual with Standard and Poor's at the beginning of the year.
