There are 15 days to go to the Adidas Dublin Marathon and there is no point pretending any more. I am terrified. I did a disastrous 21-mile run last Saturday that took me three hours and 37minutes; though I had done 20 miles in three hours and five minutes two weekends previously.

I had a small insight into what it will be like for the last gruelling six miles and it’s not pretty.
