Mao ousted in revolutionary action

The owners of the Cafe Mao chain have bowed to public pressure and removed pictures of the former Chinese dictator from their four restaurants.

There had been widespread criticism of the choice of name and image for the Oriental fusion restaurants in Dublin's Chatham Row, Dun Laoghaire, Dundrum Town Centre and Glasgow.

According to Jung Chang, author of the bestseller Wild Swans, Mao Zedong was responsible for more than 70 million deaths, making him the most bloodthirsty dictator in history.
