Manufacturing growth gathers momentum, shows survey

Growth in the Irish manufacturing sector gathered momentum in March, with rates of expansion in output and new orders quickening sharply during the month, according to a new survey.

Growth in the Irish manufacturing sector gathered momentum in March, with rates of expansion in output and new orders quickening sharply during the month, according to a new survey.

The latest Purchasing Managers’ Index for the manufacturing sector rose to 55.5 in March from 52.9 in the previous month to signal a marked strengthening of business conditions, said it authors, Investec and Markit Economics.
