The manufacturing sector contracted in January for a third successive month, according to the NCB Purchasing Mangers’ Index.

The manufacturing sector contracted in January for a third successive month, according to the NCB Purchasing Mangers’ Index.

The seasonally adjusted index fell to 48.3 in the month compared to 48.6 in December. Manufacturing output decreased for a third successive month, with the drop acceleratingin January to 47.3, compared to 48.7 in December. A reading below 50 indicates contraction.
