Manufacturing and mortgages point to weakening British economy

Britain’s manufacturing sector shrank for a second month in March as “ lacklustre” demand at factories weighed on economic growth, Markit Economics said.

Lenders granted 51,653 mortgages, the least since September, the Bank of England said today in London.
