Ahead of a possible sale by the government of some of its shares, AIB is gearing up for some substantial changes in its management structure.

According to sources, the purpose of the reshuffle is to give a more traditional split between the bank's corporate and consumer banking operations.

Among other changes, Fergus Murphy, who is currently director of products and capital markets, is tipped to take over as head of the company's corporate and treasury...
