Managed Services: Outsource uptake still slow

The cloud is accelerating interest in outsourcing, according to Irish telcos, and it's driven by business rather than technology

Telcos such as BT and Eircom have used managed services to expand their product offerings, building on their network and communication expertise to offer a range of IT infrastructure solutions.

To date, uptake of outsourcing in Ireland has been steady rather than spectacular, according to Brendan McMorrow, market research and insight manager at BT, but he believes the cloud will encourage more businesses to relinquish total control over their IT environments and try something different...
