Managed Print: Outsource for savings

Outsourcing your printing requirement to a third party has several benefits, not least cost savings, writes Leslie Faughnan.

Now well into its second decade in Ireland, managed print and output as an externally-provided service is mainstream.

Print was, in fact, one of the earliest ICT-based functions to be outsourced, after directly technical areas, such as maintenance or server and Lan management. Microsoft Ireland was the pioneering client in outsourcing its print function to Ergo 14 years ago, a contract that has now gone through four review and renewal processes since 1998.
