Maltesers go Fairtrade
Need an excuse to snack? Maltesers will soon carry a Fairtrade label
Mars Ireland has earned the right to badge Maltesers as "Fairtrade".
The maker of Snickers and M&Ms has agreed to provide more than US$1 million annually in Fairtrade premiums to cocoa farmers’ co-operatives in West Africa.
From 2012, Maltesers will carry a Fairtrade label in Ireland and in Britain.
