Maloney's Balderton to launch new investment fund

Barry Maloney's venture capital firm, Balderton, is expected to raise money for another fund this year, and is likely to take in around £250 million.

Barry Maloney's venture capital firm, Balderton, is expected to raise money for another fund this year, and is likely to take in around £250 million.

It will be the first fundraising by Balderton since October 2008.

The firm has invested in a series of well-known companies, including Bebo, Payzone, Wonga and Lovefilm, with mixed results. It was set up in 2000 by Maloney, a former chief executive of Esat Digifone.
