Talks on a new world trade agreement will be restarted in the near future, following a meeting of trade ministers in Davos, Switzerland, yesterday.

The meeting was addressed by Peter Mandelson, EU trade commissioner, following a week of intensive behind-the-scenes negotiations at the annual World Economic Forum at the Swiss alpine report.

Mandelson told the meeting that the EU would be willing to agree huge cuts in farm subsidies - by over 50 per cent...
