Magical Mozambique

Mozambique’s capital city, Maputo, with its colonial architecture and lively restaurants and markets, provides a good introduction to what the country has to offer, writes Bill Corcoran

Although Mozambique is one of the poorest count r i e s in the world, its lack of financial wealth and decent infrastructure should not deter the adventurous traveller who wants to experience a unique environment.

The country’s sun-kissed beaches, sparsely populated islands and tepid Indian Ocean waters are without doubt its tourism pearls, but spending a few days taking in the sights and sounds of Maputo is a good starting point for a trip....
