After weeks of uncertainty, a counter bid for Irish Continental Group (ICG) has finally been laid on the table.

The Doyle/One51 consortium, under its recently adopted name of Moonduster, has delivered what appears to be a knockout bid of €22 a share. The minimum it could bid was €20.75, the highest price the consortium has paid for shares in ICG, but the offer price puts the group well ahead of any competition.
