Luas is picking up passengers

Passenger journeys on the red Luas line have increased by 100,000 in the last six months, during a period when most other transport operators are reporting a decline in numbers.

Passenger journeys on the red Luas line have increased by 100,000 in the last six months, during a period when most other transport operators are reporting a decline in numbers.

The 10 per cent increase is most likely due to the extension of the line to Docklands, the building of the new Samuel Beckett Bridge and the opening of both the Grand Canal Theatre and Aviva Stadium, according to the Railway Procurement Agency (RPA).
