The head of the Irish Prison Service has said that he believes the next series of Love/Hate will give the public an ''insight into prison life.

Prison Service director general Michael Donnellan gave permission to the producers of the fifth series of the RTE crime drama, which will air this autumn, to film at Wheatfield prison in Dublin.
