Big variation in cost of babycare items

Parents face considerable differences in the cost of babycare products in the major supermarket chains, according to the latest research from the National Consumer Agency (NCA).

A survey of the cost of babycare, including nappies, baby food and baby hygiene products, found price differences of more than 50 per cent.

A basket of 105 branded babycare products cost €520.24 in Dunnes Stores, €523.50 in Superquinn and €546.66 in Tesco.
